Dr. Julie A. Obenchain, DDS is honored to provide the very best mercury-free and eco-friendly cosmetic and family dental services to the community of Mt. Pleasant, SC. Prior to Pleasant Smiles, Dr. Julie spent 11 years with the award-winning practice, Glenns Bay Dental Associates in Surfside Beach, SC.

A native of Piqua, OH, Dr. Obenchain knew dentistry was her calling as young as 6th grade. After completing her coursework a year ahead of schedule at Bowling Green State University, she transferred directly into her doctorate program in 1993. Dr. Julie received her Doctorate in Dentistry from Case Western Reserve School of Dentistry in Cleveland OH in 1997. After graduation, she completed a one year residency at the Dayton VA Medical Center before going into practice.

In 2004, Dr. Julie sold her practice in OH and relocated her family to SC. A mother of three wonderful children and breast cancer survivor, Dr. Julie is passionate about practicing dentistry in the safest and most biologically-responsible way by eliminating mercury, BPA, and other toxic materials from her practice. She is also devoted to helping patients undergoing cancer treatment preserve and protect their oral health.

Dr. Julie A. Obenchain, DDS is a proud member of the American Dental Association, South Carolina Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the Give Kids A Smile program.
